Contract Professional

MatchBox Consulting Group is seeking a Contract Professional for a 6 month contract, with high renewal potential, on behalf of our client – one of BC’s largest clean energy and utility companies.

This role is responsible for the formal management of medium to high complexity contracts, ensuring projects and ongoing operations are delivered safely, with quality, on time, and within budget. The successful candidate will play a key role in post-award contract management, working closely with vendors and internal stakeholders to support civil underground construction initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage contracts through the post-award phase, including ongoing vendor interface and performance oversight
• Monitor contract performance, identify risks or issues, and take timely action to resolve them
• Ensure all contractual obligations are met by both the client and suppliers
• Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, stakeholders, and supply chain teams
• Support successful execution of sourcing initiatives through effective communication and reporting
• Forecast, track, and report on contract usage in alignment with financial controls and budget requirements
• Provide guidance to internal teams on procurement, sourcing, and contract management best practices
• Apply knowledge of public sector procurement to ensure best value outcomes

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum of 9 years of contract management experience
• Strong experience in post-award contract management
• Proven experience managing vendor relationships
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong understanding of contract management principles and public sector procurement practices
• Ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Law, Economics, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience
• Certificate in Project Management, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent is an asset

Technical Skills

• Intermediate proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint)

Nice to Have

• Experience supporting civil construction projects
• Familiarity with SAP and/or Visio

Work Arrangement

• Hybrid model with a minimum of 2 days per week in office (Burnaby or Surrey)
