Job Title: Production Assembler – Natural Gas and Propane Boilers
Job Description
This role focuses on assembling and packaging natural gas and liquid propane boilers on a fast-paced production line. You will work with larger mechanical components, use hand and power tools, and rotate between assembly and packaging tasks. The position is physically demanding and requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions in a busy manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Assemble components for multiple versions of boilers on a production line, following established work instructions and quality standards.
- Use hand and power tools such as screwdrivers and drills to install and secure parts safely and accurately.
- Pick and organize parts from bins for production, ensuring each station has the correct components ready for use.
- Inspect parts and assembled units to double check for quality and identify any defects or issues before passing to the next station.
- Move assembled boilers from the production line to pallets in the packaging area, ensuring proper placement and stability.
- Package finished boilers securely and prepare them for shipment according to company standards.
- Operate a pallet jack to move skids of finished product from the packaging area to the designated shipping area.
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe work area by regularly checking the surrounding environment and following housekeeping standards.
- Report to the production floor and be ready to work by the scheduled start time each day.
- Perform repetitive tasks that involve standing, bending, lifting, twisting, and crouching throughout the shift.
- Lift and move products weighing up to 50 pounds repeatedly, including lifting, twisting, and stacking items on pallets in the packaging area.
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines, including proper use of tools, equipment, and personal protective equipment.
- Read, understand, and follow written work instructions, labels, and production documentation.
- Listen to and follow verbal instructions from leads and supervisors to meet production targets and quality expectations.
- Collaborate with team members on the production line to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of each boiler within the expected cycle time.
- Adapt to working in different stations or areas, including both assembly and packaging, as production needs change.
Essential Skills
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude, with experience using hand and power tools such as screwdrivers and drills.
- Previous experience in packaging, assembly, or general labor within a manufacturing facility.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting up to 50 pounds repetitively.
- Capability to stand for an entire 8-hour shift while bending, twisting, crouching, and lifting products.
- Comfort working in a hot indoor environment, with temperatures reaching up to approximately 35 degrees in the summer and around 20 degrees in the winter.
- Strong English communication skills for safety, including the ability to read, understand, and follow written instructions and labels.
- Ability to follow verbal instructions clearly and accurately in a fast-paced production setting.
- Willingness and ability to rotate between assembly and packaging tasks as needed.
- Ability to pass a Criminal check as part of the hiring process.
- Attention to detail to consistently double check quality and ensure products meet standards.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- 3–6 months of experience working on an assembly line is an asset.
- 3–6 months of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment is an asset.
- Experience working in a Lean manufacturing environment is considered an advantage.
- Highly organized, with the ability to manage tasks efficiently in a production setting.
- Motivated, with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
- Interest in learning and developing within a structured production environment that offers multiple levels and roles.

Work Environment
The work takes place in a bright, clean manufacturing facility focused on assembling and packaging boilers. The environment is busy and can be noisy due to the frequent use of power tools and drilling. Indoor temperatures can become very warm in the summer, reaching up to around 35 degrees, with fans in use but no air conditioning; in the winter, the floor temperature is typically around 20 degrees. The role involves working on your feet for an entire 8-hour shift with regular bending, lifting, twisting, and crouching. The standard schedule is Monday to Friday from 8:00 . to 4:30 . (with the day effectively ending at 4:15 . due to how breaks are structured), including a 30-minute unpaid lunch and additional shorter breaks. While on contract, there is no overtime, though regular employees may have opportunities to work extra hours before or after the regular shift or occasionally on Saturdays. The team size is approximately 55 people, including about 35 in assembly, creating a collaborative production environment. Personal protective equipment is required, including 6-inch high CSA-approved steel-toe work boots. Employees must wear pants and a shirt with sleeves, and long sleeves are required to meet safety and dress code standards.
