Attendant Services Worker - OutreachYou can make a difference in the lives of both adults with physical disabilities and seniors, who have chosen to maintain their independence by living in their own homes with pride and dignity. Assistance from you, as a professional and friendly employee, is a key component to providing this quality service. Our clients self-direct their care and live independently. Activities include:Transferring/positioning/turningDressing/undressingWashing/bathingToileting including bowel, bladder and catheter careLight housekeeping/laundry assistanceMeal preparation/assistance with eatingFollow through on programs developed by an occupational therapist, physiotherapist and/or speech therapistQualifications & Requirements:PSW certification or experience in the field preferredVehicle, valid driver's license, proof of valid insuranceAbility to work shifts including days and/or eveningsCommitment to work alternate weekendsSuccessful Vulnerable Sector Police Check within the last 6 monthsEmployment medical and up to date immunizationsHealth, Wellness and Safety:In support of Guelph Independent Livings' commitment to a healthy and safe workplace and community, we have an immunization requirement for all employeesWe provide all appropriate PPE for employeesOn-going Infection Prevention and Control measures, education, and support Wellness matters, our Employee Assistance Program is free and confidential for all employees and family members. Services include, but are not limited to, counselling (individual, family, children, couples, credit), wellness promotion, financial literacy programs and assorted therapies as neededStaff are required to work in client homes, and therefore may be exposed to second-hand smoke, pets, household cleaners.
