The Office of the Auditor General (OAG) is an independent office of the Legislative Assembly, established under The Auditor General Act. Ability to work overtime when required (limited) Qualifications : Essential :

  • A CPA designation or working towards a CPA designation after having passed the CFE
  • Extensive recent experience applying accounting principles and Canadian Auditing Standards (CAS) in conducting financial statement audits
  • Superior analytical skills to identify and analyze problems and form logical conclusions
  • The ability to effectively plan, organize and follow up when managing assigned work
  • Strong written communication skills to effectively communicate audit findings to a variety of stakeholders
  • The ability to be proactive, take initiative, and perform tasks independently while working under minimal supervision
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work well both within a team setting and with a diverse group of stakeholders
  • Strong verbal communication skills including the ability to actively listen and present messages concisely.
  • Duties : Reporting directly to the financial statement managers and / or principals and indirectly to the Deputy Auditor General, the Senior Auditor will work as a member of the financial statements serice area to perform financial statements audits in accordance with Canadian Auditing Standards. The Senior Auditor will supervise staff , oversee audit budgets, and will actively participate in audit activities including planning, gathering evidence, and reporting of findings.
