Course Specific Qualifications
To teach this course, the following course specific teaching qualifications must be met, and evidence included in a teaching .
Applicants and / or employees shall be evaluated by the Selection Committee in terms of qualifications and appointments shall be offered on this basis :
Education
The minimum educational qualifications for this role are as follows :
Applicants at a minimum must have a college diploma (an undergraduate degree is preferred) in computer science or a related field
Experience
- Applicants must have proven experience in Full Stack
- Development, including in middleware, back-end and front-end development and deployment combined.
- Applicants must be proficient with advanced JavaScript and Python programming, SQL scripting and applied data analytics.
- Applicants require experience developing, coding, testing, debugging and maintaining full stack built websites.
- Applicants must have expertise with up-to-date, industry adopted applications and tools including but not limited to the following : Advanced Python, LAMBDA and Support Libraries such as Flask from Pallets projectREACT.

Currency
Evidence of having maintained up-to-date knowledge (including practice skills, where appropriate) and achievements in their field / discipline
Teaching Skills and Effective Interaction
- Evidence of teaching effectively to adult learners and / or evidence of teaching effectively in a post-secondary environment which may include relevant assessment tools or equivalent documentation
- Evidence of ability to interact effectively with adult learners and colleagues in a diverse and inclusive environment;
ability to work effectively in groups; ability to resolve conflicts constructively
- Evidence of ability to include equity, diversity and inclusion into their teaching
- Ability to empathize with others and consider varied perspectives
- Ability to carry out the duties and obligations of a CECL in accordance with Article 12 of the Collective Agreement
Online Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience of ability to effectively teach in an online environment which includes demonstrated knowledge of best practices for the delivery and management of online courses, including using course management system tools to communicate with students and to foster and support a collaborative online learning community with and between students in the course.
- Evidence of having maintained up to date knowledge in online teaching. Successful completion of the Chang School's Teaching Adult Learners Online (TALO) preferred.
- Applicants must demonstrate proficiency in all aspects of personal computers that are relevant to this course, including document creation, file management, internet research, and communications
- Applicants must demonstrate their knowledge of best practices for the delivery and management of online courses as adopted by The Chang School, including, but not limited to : Use course management system tools to communicate with students and to foster and support a collaborative online learning community with and between students in the courseProvide timely and constructive feedback on student workRespond to student academic and course administration inquiries in a timely manner and refer students to technical support or student support when appropriateEnsure academic integrity in the creation and administration of assignments, tests, and exams in an online environment

While applicants may submit Faculty / Course Survey results from the Winter 2020, Spring / Summer 2020, Fall 2020, Winter 2021, and Spring 2021, these results will not be used as evidence of teaching effectiveness by the selection committee due to the impact of COVID-19 on these semesters.
A negative inference will not be drawn if FCS results are not submitted for these semesters. Alternate evidence of teaching effectiveness may be provided by the candidate for consideration by the selection committee.
