Location : Montreal, QC (Hybrid)

Reports to : Director of Engineering, New Product Introduction

TBH Date : April 2025

Bonus Potential : 5%

PTO : 2 weeks

Our Sr. Project Engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams including product management, product development, electrical & mechanical engineers, sourcing, and our supplier’s development / engineering teams to ensure our products meet the highest standards of performance, aesthetics, and user experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage NPI projects through the product stage gate process, from Concept through Commercialization, in a fast-paced development environment.
  • Lead NPI technical execution including suppliers and overseas teams, to ensure all quality, cost, and performance commitments are delivered within the agreed product development schedule.
  • Collaborate with Product Development managers to develop detailed product specifications conforming to relevant Engineering, Compliance, and Safety standards.
  • Review product samples, test results, and development reports from overseas teams.
  • Conduct appropriate product quality and performance investigations and make recommendations for solutions and improvements to product and processes.
  • Support configuration of new product and project creation into the PLM and ERP systems.
  • Assist with departmental administrative tasks and follow up as needed to stay on track and remain accountable for objectives.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering is required.
  • Membership in the OIQ (Order of Quebec Engineers) is required.
  • Experience in product compliance (CSA, UL, CE, IEC) is an asset.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in Engineering and product development.
  • Experience in Go To Market project stage gate process is an asset.
  • Experience and exposure to design of small electromechanical devices is an asset.
  • Prior experience working with retailers and / or consumer goods is an asset.
  • Analytical skills with an ability to break down concepts and communicate them across the organization.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, with good follow-up skills and an attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to multi-task and work with multiple departments and manage overseas suppliers.
  • Proficient in 3D CAD to analyze, review, and improve product designs from suppliers is an asset.
