Job descriptionWe are a busy and happy Kentville family looking for a warm, reliable and trustworthy nanny to help with our upcoming transition to becoming a family of 5. We are expecting baby #3 in mid-September and are looking for a caring, safe person to help with our sweet new baby in the early months when we need to catch up on sleep, and also help around our home with light housekeeping, meal prep, occasional errands, and pet care to keep our home running smoothly during this exciting, and tiring time. Our current children are 2 and 5, and we would like for the nanny to help some mornings with getting them ready for school/daycare. The main day-to-day work anticipated in the early weeks and months would be holding and tending to baby while mom and dad catch up on sleep from being up in the night, and helping with some housework-- see below for details. Please note: we have two (very affectionate and adorable) cats in the home — applicants must be comfortable around cats. Childcare responsibilities: Active care and supervision of an infant (for early weeks and months, at least one parent would also be home at the time, so this would be to allow us the opportunity to catch up on sleep after being up through the night), and helping toddler and preschooler get ready for school/walk to the bus stop in the mornings. Occasional pickup or drop-off from daycare/school/after school program (valid driver's licence required, may use our vehicle) Household tasks: Clean-up of "high-traffic" areas- kitchen (loading, emptying dishwasher, wiping down table, high chair, counters, tidying playroom and kids’ rooms Laundry — washing, drying, folding, putting away Putting away groceries that are delivered (~ 1 time per week) Meal prep using easy Chef's Plate kits (~1 meal per week) Running occasional errands as needed (would all be local, and may use our vehicle for these) Pet care — cleaning litter boxes, providing food and water Watering plants Compensation: Open to discussion and commensurate with experience Schedule: Flexible hours, 20-30 hours per week ideally, to be discussed. Requirements: Valid Canadian driver's licence Experience with infants and young children Must be comfortable with cats (we have two!) Available for occasional evenings and some weekend days Trustworthy, kind and patient with kids, organized, good communicator.
