Elder Care Provider Wanted - Seeking Compassionate, Skilled Elder Care Provider For My 91 Year Old Mom With Alzheimer's/Dementia

Overview : Hello!

We are seeking a kind, trustworthy, experienced, and flexible caregiver-companion with excellent communication skills who is passionate about providing respectful, dignified, and joyful senior care to our mom. Previous experience / skills in caring for elders with Alzheimer's / Dementia is preferred.

You would be joining my Mom's small care team at our home in Victoria Hill, New Westminster, British Columbia. Mom is from Poland but has lived in Canada for over 60 years and speaks both Polish and English and is comfortable with a wide range of people. ( And, if you speak Polish, that would be a plus ).

My Mom is in the late-intermediate stages of Alzheimer's / Dementia and requires daily companionship plus skilled and attentive care in all aspects of daily living, including overnight oversight / care. She is still mobile (able to walk) and able to dress herself (with assistance) and needs / benefits from passionate, caring companions who engage her in conversation (and singing, if possible, since she loves to sing ; ) and physical activity (walking, gentle exercises, etc), and activities of daily living and who are able to assist her in all aspects of personal care, including toileting / peri-care, bathing (showers), providing manicures and foot soaks, etc.

Services And Training :

Overall home-care (housekeeping / meal preparation), Medication administration, personal care needs which will increase over time, and excellent "redirection" skills. Ideally, you have at least a few years of 1 : 1 experience working with seniors with Alzheimer's / Dementia, and you have personal transportation available (transit or own vehicle or live closeby). CPR certified, training as a Nurse, Registered Caregiver preferred, although it isn't required to apply. Team player is essential.
