Job Title: Machine Operator – Continental Shifts
Job Description
The Machine Operator on the continental night shift sets up and operates moulding presses and related equipment to produce high-quality parts in a clean, well-organized manufacturing environment. This role prepares and dispenses epoxy materials, performs sub-assembly of electro-mechanical components, inspects work for cosmetic and dimensional accuracy, and documents production and quality results. The position actively supports safety, resource conservation, and team collaboration while meeting established moulding procedures and production expectations.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate moulding presses and associated machinery using hand tools as required.
- Prepare and fill epoxy dispenser reservoirs with hardener and resin in accordance with production requirements.
- Understand and follow moulding procedures, production expectations, and standard operating instructions.
- Examine completed work for cosmetic and dimensional defects to ensure products meet quality standards.
- Operate and run epoxy sandblasting machines and paint equipment safely and efficiently.
- Perform sub-assembly of electro-mechanical parts according to specifications.
- Dispose of hazardous chemicals properly in line with company procedures and regulatory guidelines.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with established procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Conserve resources by using equipment and supplies efficiently to achieve job results.
- Contribute to team success by training others in machine operator tasks when needed.
- Inspect all work for defects prior to passing it on to the next operation or department.
- Document actions by accurately completing production and quality forms.
Essential Skills
- At least 1 year of machine operating experience (beyond simple button pressing) or at least 1 year of assembly experience.
- Minimum 1 year of experience performing quality checks using calipers and other measurement tools.
- Demonstrated good mechanical aptitude and comfort working with mechanical equipment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds safely and repeatedly as part of daily tasks.
- Experience using hand tools and power tools in a manufacturing or assembly setting.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in assembly work, including handling components and following build instructions.
- Comfort working with multiple machines and tools in a production environment.
- Attention to detail when inspecting parts for cosmetic and dimensional accuracy.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and complete required documentation.
- Willingness to support and train team members on machine operation tasks.

Work Environment
The role is based in a medium to large manufacturing facility of over 200,000 square feet, featuring six assembly workstations, eight welding cells, a paint booth, and an epoxy mold department with more than ten machines. The environment is very clean, well maintained, and brightly lit, with high ceilings that contribute to a spacious and comfortable workspace. Team members work around a variety of manufacturing equipment, including moulding presses, epoxy dispensers, sandblasting machines, and paint equipment, within clearly defined production area
