Job Title: Food Packaging Associate
Job Description
This role focuses on packaging products on a fast-paced production line in a manufacturing facility. You will work with conveyors and automated machinery to package, label, box, and palletize products while maintaining quality standards and accurate documentation. The position requires consistent standing, repetitive movements, and light to moderate lifting in a production environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate on a production line to package products according to established procedures and standards.
- Box packaged products and prepare them for palletizing and shipment.
- Stack packaged products onto pallets, including lifting up to approximately 10 pounds above shoulder height and up to 40 pounds when building boxes and pallets.
- Perform overhead lifting of about 10 pounds repeatedly as part of the packaging process.
- Work in a production environment while maintaining productivity and focus.
- Work around continuously running machinery, including conveyors, and follow all safety procedures.
- Rotate through different positions along the packaging line within the same work area to support overall production flow.
- Complete required paperwork accurately, including notes on defects, waste, and production counts, and maintain basic documentation for quality control.
- Conduct in-process quality checks to identify defects and ensure products meet quality standards.
- Handle products and components throughout various stages of the packaging process.
- Work alongside machine operators, ensuring products move correctly through the line to the end of the packaging process.
- Apply labels, sleeves, or packaging materials to cartons and verify that packaging information is correct.
- Place finished packages into boxes and stack them onto pallets in an organized manner.
- Maintain a very fast-paced, repetitive work rhythm throughout the shift.
- Communicate clearly in English when interacting with supervisors and team members.
- Follow all safety, cleanliness, and PPE requirements while on the production floor.
Essential Skills
- Ability to stand for approximately 8 hours per shift on a production line.
- Ability to lift 10–15 kg repeatedly throughout the day, including overhead lifting and lifting up to approximately 40 lbs when building boxes and pallets.
- Comfort working around machinery and conveyors running continuously with constant noise.
- Strong English communication skills.
- Willingness and availability to work weekdays and weekends as required.
- Reliability and punctuality for scheduled shifts and pre-shift meetings.
- Ability to work in a repetitive, fast-paced production environment.
- Steel-toe work boots and adherence to all required safety attire.
Shift Options:
- Morning Shift: Monday to Friday, 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM
- Afternoon Shift: Monday to Friday, 2:45 PM – 11:15 PM
- Weekend availability required as needed
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Previous production, packaging, or manufacturing experience is an asset.
- Prior experience working in a production line environment is an asset.
