NRGH has a total of 10 ORs in the main operating room and 2 ambulatory ORs used for ophthalmology and minor procedures under local anesthetic.
We provide 24 / 7 coverage for the main OR and the labour and delivery suite. Members of our group also provide coverage at our outpatient consult clinic, an ambulatory surgical center, and a private oral surgery clinic.
Surgical specialties at NRGH include : General Surgery, Orthopedics, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Plastic Surgery, Urology, Otolaryngology, Oral-Maxillofacial Surgery, Pediatric Dentistry, and Ophthalmology.
We are supported in our day to day clinical work by a dedicated group of four Anesthesia Assistants.
The surgical program at NRGH completes approximately 13, surgeries per year including 8, daycare surgeries and 4, in-patient surgeries.
We have a busy emergency service conducting approximately 2, emergency surgeries per year. Our perinatal unit does approximately 1, deliveries per year and is supported by a level 2 NICU.
Our main OR was constructed in and is equipped with state of the art wireless HD laparoscopic equipment. We utilize Drager Zeus anesthetic machines and share access to four ultrasound machines to facilitate regional anesthesia and vascular access.
We do a large volume of elective and emergency orthopedic surgery and incorporate regional blocks into patient care as appropriate.
We run an outpatient consult clinic three days per week. NRGH has a new state of the art ICU tower which will include 12 ICU beds and a 12 bed high acuity unit.
We enjoy good support from critical care and most medical subspecialties.
Current ACLS, PALS required. ATLS certification desirable. Additional consideration given to candidates with fellowship training in any of Regional Anesthesia, Obstetrical Anesthesia, or Perioperative Medicine.
