Job Description

Join us in Advancing the Environmental Global Impact within the Rail Industry

For nearly 40 years, ZTR has designed, developed and released products that have a positive environmental impact within the Locomotive Industry. Planning for an environmentally sustainable future means taking action today in preparation for tomorrow. Everyone has a role to play and we take ours seriously.

What You’ll be Doing

The Product Manager is responsible for defining the vision, strategy, and roadmap for a product or product line delivering transformational environmental and operational efficiencies for locomotives. This role works at the intersection of business, technology, and user experience, ensuring the product delivers value to customers and achieves organizational goals. Product Managers collaborate closely with cross-functional teams—including engineering, design, marketing, sales, and customer support—to guide products from concept to launch and ongoing optimization.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Driving product strategy in alignment with the overall company vision and goals through market research, analyzing customer needs, and identifying market opportunities to define the product roadmap.

  • Develop a product roadmap that outlines the product's features, enhancements, and delivery timelines. Prioritizing features based on customer and business value, collaborating with cross-functional teams, ensuring the product roadmap aligns with the company's strategic objectives.

  • Working closely with stakeholders, customers, and internal teams to gather and document product requirements. This includes defining user stories, use cases, and acceptance criteria to clearly communicate the product's functionality and features.

  • Collaborating with various teams such as engineering, design, marketing, and sales to ensure successful product development and launch. This involves coordinating efforts, facilitating communication, and resolving any conflicts or issues that may arise.

  • Overseeing the product development process, ensuring that the product is built according to specifications, and managing the product lifecycle. Conducting product reviews, tracking progress, and making adjustments as necessary.

  • Developing and executing a comprehensive go-to-market strategy for new product releases. Creating marketing plans, pricing strategies, and promotional activities to drive product adoption and sales.

  • Monitoring the performance and success of the product in the market. Analyzing product metrics, user feedback, and market trends to identify areas for improvement and optimize the product's performance.

  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers to gather feedback, understand their needs, and ensure customer satisfaction. Conducting customer interviews, organizing user feedback sessions, and addressing customer concerns.

Who you are:

  • 3+ years of relevant product management experience, preferably with hardware and software products.
  • Previous experience in related industries, with experience in the railway industry being an asset.
  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related fields
  • Proven experience in successfully carrying products through concept to launch in the entire product life cycle
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Collaborative, and a knack for working with cross functional teams
  • Adaptable, expert in time management and organizational skills
  • Passionate about technology and continuous learning
  • Ability to travel internationally

Please apply even if you don’t qualify for all responsibilities or skills.

This position is open as we're looking to expand our team!

The expected annual base salary range for this position is between $90,000 - $120,000 CDN.

The annual base salary is determined through comprehensive market research and considers factors including qualifications, skills, education, relevant experience, work location, internal equity, and alignment with local and industry market data. Our job titles may span more than one career level. Employees may also be eligible for our comprehensive benefits package, including Employer RRSP matching. Salary ranges listed in job postings are subject to change.
