Support Worker (Powell River), Casual Friday-Sunday Overnight Shifts

Our Support Workers assist children, youth, and adults who have various physical, developmental, and / or mental health issues to live, engage, play, and thrive in their homes and communities. We are seeking workers who not only have experience but also a caring attitude and fun personality. Currently looking for a casual worker.

Qualifications and Requirements :
Job qualifications include (if you do not have all of these, but demonstrate you are a good fit for the position, Strive may be able assist you to acquire some of these requirements) :
Minimum of 1-year of experience (or combination of education and experience)Criminal Record Check ClearanceClass 5 BC Driver’s License required and suitable driver’s abstractFirst Aid and CPR CertificateFood Safe CertificateAccess to a reliable vehicle for work purposesThe ideal applicant shall possess :
Knowledge and experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, physical disabilities, mental health concerns, and behavioursAn understanding of the needs and barriers faced by individuals with various abilitiesCommand of English language with ability to communicate effectively and complete daily documentationAbility to understand and follow health care plans, personal protocols, schedules, and activitiesAbility to follow policies and procedures, including health and safety policiesAn understanding of the difference between creating independence vs. creating dependenceCompetence to safely accompany / transport individuals to appointments and activities in the communityKnowledge and experience with community resources, integration, and teaching life skills and Community LivingNO COVID VACCINATION REQUIREDSchedule : Friday -Sunday 11pm-7am
