We're seeking an experienced Carpenter to join a growing commercial construction team specializing in specialty concrete and structural projects. This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of commercial and civil construction projects while expanding your expertise in formwork, concrete systems, building envelopes, and framing.

What You'll Do

As a Carpenter, you'll play a key role in the successful execution of commercial construction projects by performing a combination of skilled carpentry and site support duties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build, set, and strip concrete forms for commercial and structural concrete projects.
  • Perform back framing and building envelope installations.
  • Install membranes and insulation in accordance with project specifications.
  • Install and align concrete cladding systems and related components.
  • Assemble and work with brace bays and coil rod forming systems.
  • Tie rebar and assist with reinforcing steel placement prior to concrete pours.
  • Safely operate hand and power tools, including skill saws, nail guns, and other carpentry equipment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and project plans.
  • Complete work independently while maintaining high standards of craftsmanship, productivity, and safety.
  • Assist with general labour duties including material handling, site organization, and cleanup as required.
  • Participate in fall protection training and adhere to all company and site safety policies.
  • Collaborate with supervisors, tradespeople, and project teams to support successful project delivery.
  • Work overtime and adapt to varying shift start times as project needs require.

What You Bring

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of carpentry experience in commercial construction.
  • Strong hands-on experience with concrete formwork and structural concrete projects.
  • Proven knowledge of commercial carpentry practices and construction methods.
  • Comfortable using a wide range of carpentry hand and power tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and blueprints.
  • Personal tool belt and essential hand tools.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety and safe work practices.
  • Reliable transportation to reach project sites and ability to work varying start times.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

  • Scissor lift and/or boom lift certification.
  • Experience with commercial building envelope systems.
  • Experience on multi-storey commercial or civil construction projects.
  • Apprentices currently pursuing trade certification.
  • Interest in continued learning and professional development within the carpentry trade.

Work Environment

  • Primarily commercial construction projects, including specialty concrete structures and multi-floor developments.
  • Fast-paced, team-oriented environment with a strong commitment to safety.
  • Standard start times vary by project and may begin at 6:00 ., 7:00 ., or 7:30 .
  • Overtime available based on project requirements.
  • Work performed outdoors and indoors in active construction environments.
  • Current project parking may be limited; public transit access is recommended. Access to a vehicle is considered an asset for future project assignments.
