Role Responsibilities
The Issues Coordinator plays a key role in supporting TSS’ mandate by managing issues, analyzing emerging risks, and ensuring strong internal and external communication flows. This role keeps leadership informed, aligns messaging across the branch, and helps the team stay ahead of challenges and opportunities.
What You’ll Do
- Proactive Issues & Risk Management
- Spot emerging risks, challenges, and issues—and recommend practical strategies to address them.
- Research trends and best practices, summarizing insights and their impact on traffic safety programs and policies.
- Keep the Executive Director and branch leadership informed on issues affecting their areas.
- Prepare timely briefings, recommendations, and value added analysis for leadership decision making.
Communication & Information Flow
- Serve as the primary communication liaison for the branch—internally and externally.
- Build and maintain effective communication and information management processes.
- Ensure inquiries are routed appropriately, responses are coordinated, and issues are handled promptly.
- Work with ADMO and subject matter experts to deliver clear, consistent key messages and materials.
Branch Support & Strategic Coordination
- Provide advice and recommendations on issues, opportunities, and operational challenges.
- Support branch planning by helping set annual priorities and goals with leadership.
- Coordinate internal meetings and provide ongoing support to the Executive Director.
- Contribute to advancing the department’s mandate by aligning issues management with branch operations.
