Status : Full Time

Hours : Monday – Friday, 35 hours / week

Home Campus : Fennell (hybrid work arrangements available)

Rate of Pay : Payband 11 ($96,466 - $120,582 per year)

Job Summary

Reporting to the Director, People and Organization Development (DP&OD) the Leadership and Team Development Partner drives college-wide leadership and mentorship programming, training and team development. This role will coach and guide leaders and managers to enhance their skills, competencies and capabilities, directly impacting organizational effectiveness and building high-functioning teams.

The position is responsible for planning, designing, developing, delivering and evaluating current and future leadership, mentorship and team development programs aligning them with college priorities, and strategic and people plans to foster our desired organizational culture

As a coach, facilitator and change agent, this role conducts organization-wide assessments and gap analysis related to leadership competencies and team performance. The incumbent recommends or develops necessary programs, team engagement initiatives, and interventions.

Key responsibilities include identifying learning needs, gaps or trends to address college requirements related to leadership, mentorship and team dynamics with a focus of program costs and budget forecasting.

This position will collaborate and partner with various groups, leaders and teams across the college to support program design and delivery.

The incumbent is responsible for developing the required design / framework, policy, procedure, communication and promotion of formal leadership, mentorship and team learning and development programs, including succession planning and team engagement initiatives.

What you’ll be doing :

Leadership and Mentorship Programs

  • Creates or sources out organization-wide and or client-specific leadership development programs or training, which includes the design, development, delivery and evaluation of the program or training.
  • Builds and incorporates leadership competencies into HR programs, to support and enhance capabilities for employees across the college at all campuses.
  • Utilizes expertise in instructional design and adult learning principles to design / select appropriate instructional procedures or methods to appeal to various learning styles, ( individual training, group instruction, self study, lectures, demonstrations, simulation exercises, role play, computer-based training).
  • Demonstrates competence in training design and delivery in synchronous, asynchronous, in-person and virtual learning environments.
  • Develops, implements and evaluates communications and promotional strategies for leadership and mentorship programs.
  • Provides innovative solutions to increase acceptance and adoption of learning strategies for leaders. Implements effective measurement tools that will evaluate return on investment incorporated in executive summaries.
  • Utilizes project management skills to plan out and implement leadership and mentorship programs.
  • Consults with managers, parties of interest, and human resources strategic partners to determine development needs to meet strategic business objectives and support organizational change.

Team Effectiveness – Interventions, Restoration and Team Building

  • Designs and facilitates team development or intervention programs, to support and encourage organizational and team effectiveness.
  • Consults with managers, parties of interest, and human resources strategic partners to determine development needs to meet strategic business objectives and support organizational change.
  • Builds a strong network of professionals internally and externally to be used as subject matter experts or as consultants to ensure the development needs or appropriate interventions for teams are being met.
  • Needs Assessment, Program Evaluation and Reporting

  • Conducts College wide and client specific needs and gap analysis using interviews, surveys, focus groups, committees, and data analytics to support or initiate programs related to leadership or team interventions or development.
  • Ensures the program deliverables / outcomes for existing and new initiatives are successfully executed and outlined in executive summary reports.
  • Evaluates program and gathers feedback for continuous improvement and return on investment.
  • Compiles data and analyzes past and current year training programs related to leadership and team effectiveness.
  • Budget and Contractor Management

  • Forecast and manage budget related to leadership, mentorship and team development programs.
  • Sources and schedules external contract facilitators in alignment with procurement processes and policies.
  • What you’ll bring to the role :

  • A three-year degree in Human Resource Management, Organizational Psychology, Adult Education, or similar field of study.
  • Education / Certificate / Diploma in Organization Development applied behavioural sciences, business administration, Change Management or related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Professional designation in one or more of the following Certified Training and Development Professional (CTDP), and / or Certified Training Practitioner (CTP), Certified HR Leader (CHRL), Associate Certified Coach (ACC), Change Practitioner.
  • Certified in team and personal development assessments / inventories strongly preferred eg MBTI, SDI, DISC, Strength Finders, Fierce Conversations, Kolbe, EQI, Hogan.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of adult learning styles, participative training design, group dynamics, organizational development theory and practices, leadership and team development principles, advanced consulting methods, coaching, conflict resolution, process facilitation, and web-based training solutions.
  • Formal training in Project Management.
  • Intermediate to Advanced skills in MS Office suite including Teams.
  • Superb Presentation and Facilitation skills.
  • Negotiation skills to work with vendors and parties of interest.
  • Excellent time and project management skills.
  • Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Exceptional communication skills (written and oral).
  • Demonstrated commitment and understanding of human rights, equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility.
  • The ability to communicate and work effectively with diverse, employees, and communities.
