MatchBox Consulting Group is on the hunt for an Electrical Engineer to work hybrid from one of our clients’ major offices ( Calgary, Edmonton, Saskatoon, Burnaby or Langley ).
Our client is a dynamic engineering firm specializing in community infrastructure, offering comprehensive services from planning and design to construction administration.
With expertise in various disciplines including civil engineering, environmental management, and water systems, they combine technical proficiency with a personal touch, ensuring cohesive project teams and exceptional client service.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Electrical Lead to execute design engineering projects, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
- Manage workloads and schedules to meet project deadlines and provide timely updates to the project PM and the larger design team.
- Write technical design reports and construction specifications, ensuring accuracy and adherence to industry standards.
- Provide engineering support during construction and commissioning phases, addressing technical issues and ensuring compliance with design specifications.
- Prepare proposals, scopes of work, and assist in responding to RFPs, ensuring comprehensive and competitive submissions.
Requirements
- Degree or diploma in electrical engineering from an accredited post-secondary institution.
- At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in detailed electrical systems design, specifically within the water / wastewater consulting industry.
- P.Eng. or E.I.T. designation, or eligibility for registration with APEGA.
- Proven experience in applying electrical codes and standards such as CEC, IEEE, NFPA, and NEMA.
- Strong familiarity with design tools like AutoCAD, Plant 3D, Revit, and Bluebeam, as well as design collaboration tools such as BIM and Autodesk Construction Cloud.
Bonus Points
- Experience in controls and instrumentation design.
- Proficiency in PLC programming and systems integration.
- Experience with 3D building information management (BIM) design platforms, including Revit and Autodesk Plant 3D.
