We are looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk to join a finance team in Vancouver, British Columbia on a Contract basis. This contract assignment is expected to run for approximately 2.5 months through the end of November, beginning on a part-time schedule of about 15 hours per week with flexibility in days worked. The successful candidate will support day-to-day payables and general accounting activities while working closely with the Controller and contributing effectively in a small team environment.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the shared accounts payable mailbox and organize incoming invoices for timely handling.
• Verify invoice details, secure the required internal approvals, and record transactions accurately in the accounting system.
• Match invoices to supporting documentation, apply appropriate coding, and maintain accurate financial records.
• Prepare and process scheduled payment runs twice each month while ensuring deadlines are met.
• Complete vendor statement reconciliations and investigate differences to resolve outstanding issues.
• Support bookkeeping tasks related to disbursements, including account reconciliations, accrual entries, and prepaid expense tracking.
• Enter banking activity such as fees and other related transactions into the financial system.
• Conduct an initial review of employee expense submissions and corporate credit card transactions for completeness and accuracy.
• Provide additional accounting assistance to finance leadership as needed, particularly during busier periods such as month-end.
