Recruitment Incentives

About the Opportunity

Nova Scotia Health is hiring Diagnostic Medical Sonographers and Cardiac Sonographers across the province. The Sonographer reports to the Manager of Diagnostic Imaging, as a member of the Diagnostic Imaging Team performs patient care, technical activities and duties directly related to the overall functioning of the department.

The purpose of this position involves the performance of routine and specialized ultrasound procedures in the Diagnostic Imaging Department ensuring proper application of ultrasound techniques and procedures.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following :

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound
  • Sonography Canada certification
  • Nova Scotia College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals (NSCMIRTP) licensure
  • Current CPR Certification
  • Registration with more than one ultrasound credential is an asset
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours

  • Various sites and community-based locations throughout Nova Scotia. You will be asked to specify your work location preferences in the screening questions that follow once you click 'Apply now >
  • Shifts may include days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Travel to other sites may be required.

Compensation and Benefits

$34.24 - $39.96 hourly

Cardiac Sonographers are currently eligible for a temporary market adjustment. The amount is annually $9600.00 for full-time hours, paid on a biweekly basis in the amount of $369.23.

Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan
