Bella Bella is aprogressive Indigenous community accessible by daily flights from Vancouver South Terminaland regular ferry service from Port Hardy and Prince Rupert. Although small, many amenitiesare available: coffee shop, hospital, pharmacy, grocery store, post office, fitness center, churchand other smaller shops. Bella Bella Community School has approximately 80 students in theHigh school division. The position requires a dynamic and compassionate leader who is dedicated to student success and community engagement.Together with the elementary Principal they will continue to maintain the school culture wherestudents, families, and staff feel valued and supported. SUMMARYResponsible for managing Bella Bella Community School operations and ensuring that the best interestsof students are served. The High School Principal supervises teachers, specialists, teaching assistantsand support staff in the delivery of the high school courses. They collaborate and work alongside the elementary Principal. Also, the position performs other related duties and participates in work related training as required.SCOPEWorks closely with, and under the direction of the Superintendent and in accordance with BCcurriculum and Bella Bella Community School Society policy/procedures in managing the high schoolschool operations. The scope of work includes scheduling courses, overseeing and evaluating BBCS educational programming as well as managing supporting functions such as transportation, library,breakfast/lunch program, computer services, finance and human resources. The position leads theHigh School BBCS team in promoting a learning environment where students feel proud of their culturalheritage and staff work together to foster respect, communication, and school spirit.
