UX/UI Designer Job Details

Our client is seeking a UX/UI Designer to be responsible for the strategy and visual design of multiple websites. The UX/UI Designer will work across both UX and UI, blending skills in customer analysis, design thinking, content development, prototyping and wireframing, testing and iteration with branding and graphic development, UI prototyping, interactivity and animation, and website implementation.This person will be the design/UX subject matter expert with regards to all things Web, Visual Design and CMS. Working cross-functionally across key groups, this role will be highly collaborative and focused on strategy and execution.

UX/UI Designer Responsibilities

• Conceptualizing creative ideas to align with marketing strategy and objectives; while conveying those concepts through sketches, user flows, site maps, wireframes, sample pages, clickable prototypes, etc.
• Collaborating with other designers and internal stakeholders to drive innovation within UX projects and activities
• Testing and improving the website design and user flows
• Establishing design guidelines, standards, and best practices
• Maintaining the integrity of websites by enforcing content, design, and accessibility standards
• Designing visual imagery for websites and ensuring they are in line with branding
• Working in a variety of Content Management Systems and A/B testing tools (Optimizely/Episerver, Concrete5, Drupal, etc.)
• Incorporating new functionalities, UX and interactive features into the websites
• Partnering with the eCommerce team, IT/Engineering on QA for deployment of new website features
• Preparing design plans and presenting website structure
• Ensuring our websites are adaptable and responsive to all device screen sizes
• Planning, assigning, and directing the work of others
• Assisting in selecting, training, and evaluating team staff
• Bringing an unwavering sense of curiosity, investigative mindset and problem solving to your role and the team
• Juggling multiple priorities independently and effectively delivering in a dynamic environment
• Learning new tools and working in a fast-paced environment

UX/UI Designer Skills

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as interactive design, industrial design, or graphic design, or equivalent experience in a related field
• 8+ years of experience in an UX/UI Design role
• Familiarity with web and mobile technologies, responsive design, and their impact on the feasibility of design solutions
• Experience designing interactive website experiences for both B2C and B2B audiences
• Familiarity with designing and prototyping tools, primarily Figma
• Exposure to implementing designs by building web pages in a CMS, as well as the QA involved for responsive behavior
• A portfolio of work that demonstrates process/approach, the ability to communicate informed design rationale, and an understanding of design, usability, and research best practices
• Knowledge of web accessibility guidelines and standards
• Strong analytical skills to promote data driven design decisions
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation and facilitation
• Ability to distill complex problems into simple and understandable, yet elegant design solutions

Nice to Have

• Technical experience using CSS, HTML and working in a “headless” CMS (Optimizely/EpiServer experience is a huge plus)
• Familiarity leveraging design systems
• Experience with creating human-centered design solutions across multiple platforms to solve complex problems
• Practical knowledge of Google Analytics and behavioral analytics tools such as Clicktale or HotJar
