Otter Co-op is now accepting applications for a Part -Time Kitchen Associate at our Highwayman Pub located in Abbotsford, BC.

We operate three food and pharmacy stores (including one with a fashion and hardware department), thirty Angry Otter liquor stores, one feed mill, two bulk petroleum facilities, the Highwayman Pub in Abbotsford, and multiple gas station/convenience stores.

What you’ll do: Reporting to the Kitchen Manager, responsibilities for this position include the following: Collecting pans/dishes from the line Assisting with food preparations (cutting vegetables) Running food to the tables Stocking coolers and refrigerators and ensuring all equipment and other items are stored properly Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash, etc.

Comply with nutrition and sanitation guidelines Operate in a fast-paced manner to provide all areas of the restaurant with clean, sanitized dishware Assist with various duties such as portioning food and cleaning/sanitizing to assist kitchen operations Maintain quality and speed of output Contribute to the Team in living the Corporate Values of Integrity, Community and Excellence Perform other duties as assigned Why it matters: Our team provides a range of products and services to support our member-owners.

Who you are: You are looking for a career in Food Service Industry and: Previous Kitchen Associate experience is an asset Must have excellent communication skills, be able to work efficiently in a team setting as well as independently in a fast-paced environment Must have a strong work ethic This is a physical job requiring the ability to stand for long periods of time and lift, push, pull up to 50 pounds on occasion Must be committed to a SAFE working environment FoodSafe Level 1 is an asset Preferred candidates will have open availability and be able to work a variety of shifts 7 days a week.
