Engineer - Supplier Quality
Reporting to the Supervisor – Supplier Quality, the Engineer – Supplier Quality will establish and lead the implementation of the supplier development program to achieve and sustain high levels of performance.

Responsibilities
-
Maintains expert knowledge to develop continuous improvement techniques and achieve operational excellence to support Supply Chain activities.

Develops and implements KPI’s in support of business targets and develops appropriate reporting metrics.

Assists suppliers with project management activities to meet RCCA deadlines and implement robust preventative actions.
-
Conducts risk analysis of critical parts to minimize parts supply interruption.
-
Creates and manages product and process audits to prevent failures in the suppliers manufacturing processes or product conformity.
-
Manages the interface with Engineering to sponsor supplier-initiated design changes, improve product yield and performance, and minimize risk.

Evaluates and approves new suppliers based on third-party Quality System certifications and audit results.

Works with cross-functional teams to support supplier audit plans including scheduling and conducting audits.

Ensures all supplier non-conformances are identified and contained and documents the history of supplier performance.

Evaluates supplier delivery and quality performance and implements appropriate supplier controls.

Maintains the approved supplier list and supplier files/records.
Qualifications
Skills & Qualifications

Expert knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies.
-
Proficient knowledge of APQP systems.
-
Strong skillset developed for understanding detail and assembly drawings, with exposure to GD&T,
-
Proficiency with technical documentation comprehension.
-
Demonstrated proficiency with quality inspection activities, and the use of inspection tools.
-
Ability to lead by example and work within a multifunctional team.
-
Working knowledge of lean implementation.
-
Excellent interpersonal skills with internal and external customers.
-
Advanced MS Office application skills (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Current work authorization for Canada is required for all openings.

Experience
-
3-5 years’ experience in the development and sourcing of products from domestic and international suppliers.
-
Experience in process capability improvement and structured problem solving in machining preferred.
-
Experience in aerospace quality preferred.
-
Previous experience with supplier management and project management is an asset.
Education
- Engineering Degree or related discipline preferred.
