Job description
It is acknowledged that Central Okanagan Public Schools operates within the unceded, Traditional Territory of the Okanagan syilx peoples. The School District enrolls over 25,000 students (including approximately 3,200 students who self-identify as having First Nations, Metis, and/or Inuit ancestry from Canada). Central Okanagan Public Schools is located in the Central Okanagan encompassing the communities of Peachland, West Kelowna, Kelowna, and Lake Country. There are a total of 50 school sites with 32 Elementary Schools, 8 Middle schools, 5 Secondary Schools, 3 Learning Centres, an Alternate Education School, and an Online Learning School (6-12). Were seeking enthusiastic On Call StrongStart Facilitators to lead our StrongStart Centres! In this role, you will create fun, educational activities for children and parents, promote the Centre within the community, and manage daily operations. If you have experience with young children, strong organizational skills, and a love for making an impact in the community, please apply today! The Strong Start Facilitator will: work effectively with a variety of parents, children, professionals and community mentors; maintain accurate records; be flexible with work hours; create, plan, implement and budget for parent participation early learning program; be required to deal with challenging behaviour issues; attend all early learning professional development activities; have strong verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills; possess knowledge and experience with computers and the internet; Applicants Must: have completed Grade 12 (Senior Secondary School Graduation); possess a valid certificate, preferably a diploma, in Early Childhood Education; possess a Class 5 Driver's Licence; possess or be willing to obtain a valid First Aid Certificate; possess or be willing to obtain a valid Food Safe Certification; APPLY ONLINE: Qualified candidates are invited to apply, complete with resume (outlining relevant background and work experience), three (3) professional references and the following supporting documents: High School transcript ECE diploma/certificate First Aid Certificate Food Safe Certificate BC Driver's License The wage for this position is $30.89/hour PLEASE NOTE: This is an ongoing posting.
