MatchBox Consulting Group is seeking two Project Coordinators on behalf of our client to support the delivery of a major high-voltage transmission infrastructure program in Edmonton.
The successful candidates will work alongside Project Managers throughout the full project lifecycle, supporting construction, permitting, commissioning, cost and schedule tracking, contracts, HSE, regulatory documentation, and project controls. The program includes the construction of a new substation, upgrades to existing substations, new 240 kV and 72 kV transmission lines, and the salvage of existing transmission infrastructure.
This is a strong opportunity for someone with project coordination or project management experience in construction, utilities, electrical infrastructure, or other complex capital projects who enjoys working closely with engineering, procurement, project controls, and construction teams.

Responsibilities
- Coordinate assigned high-voltage transmission projects through permitting, construction, commissioning, and closeout.
- Support Project Managers across multiple projects of varying size, complexity, cost, and duration.
- Monitor project costs, schedules, construction activities, contracts, HSE requirements, quality, and regulatory deliverables.
- Maintain project records and documentation using SharePoint, IVARA, eScheduler, and other project systems.
- Work with the Project Scheduler to provide schedule updates for integration into the program's Primavera schedule.
- Use Oracle and Oracle Business Intelligence to support procurement, vendor payments, cost monitoring, and project cost forecasting.
- Prepare and maintain project charters, project management plans, regulatory compliance documentation, change requests, and closeout documentation.
- Support project meetings, track action items, maintain issue logs, and manage project safety documentation.
- Assist with RFP development, bid evaluations, and contract formation.
- Support hazard identification and safe work planning throughout the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, project controls, construction crews, and other internal stakeholders.
- Participate in field activities, including project kick-offs, walk-downs, and HSE inspections during construction.
- Provide regular project updates and maintain accurate and timely project documentation.
Qualifications - Must-Haves
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a relevant technical certificate or diploma.
- Minimum 4 years of project management or project coordination experience.
- Strong understanding of project management processes and procedures aligned with the PMBOK.
- Experience supporting projects through multiple phases, including planning, construction, commissioning, and closeout.
- Experience with project cost and schedule monitoring, documentation, and stakeholder coordination.
- Experience working with multidisciplinary teams, including engineering, procurement, project controls, and construction.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to coordinate multiple projects and priorities.
- Comfortable participating in construction field activities and working within established HSE requirements.
Nice-to-Haves
- Project coordination or project management experience within a construction environment.
- Experience with utility construction and energized substations, including knowledge of associated hazards and safe work practices.
- Experience supporting high-voltage transmission, substation, or electrical utility projects.
- Experience with Primavera, Oracle, Oracle Business Intelligence, SharePoint, IVARA, or eScheduler.
- Experience supporting procurement, RFPs, bid evaluations, and contract formation.
- PMP designation.
- Construction Safety Training System (CSTS), Electrical Safety Training System, WHMIS, or related construction safety training.
- Ground Disturbance 201, Alberta OHS Legislation Awareness, or Leadership for Safety Excellence training.
