Underground Miner – Boomtruck Operator

Alamos Gold’s Young-Davidson is a low-cost, long-life operation and one of Canada’s largest underground gold mines. It is located near the town of Matachewan centrally located between Timmins, Kirkland Lake, North Bay and Sudbury, Ontario. The 2020 completion of a highly automated, lower mine expansion has resulted in Young-Davidson increasing production and generating strong free cash flow. With a large Mineral Reserve base, it will serve as Alamos’ foundation for growth for many years to come. Reporting to the Supervisor, Mine Operations, the successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of underground mine equipment.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Safely move material as directed. Report and document all material moved accurately to his/her Supervisor;
• Accurately report to supervisor the material needed in storage areas U/G;
• Remove all scrap from storage areas;
• Support development crews by keeping workplaces supplied with required material
• Keep equipment in good order;
• Safely load and secure materials properly on the boom truck;
• Safely operate boom truck; and
• Any other duties as directed by supervisor

Qualifications and Experience:

• Accreditation of basic common core;
• Accreditation of specialty common core;
• Self – motivated, ability to work alone;
• Strong Safety focus;
• 3 years underground mining experience; and
• Preferred candidates will be proficient in the operation of boom trucks.

Schedule: 10 hour shifts, 7 days on/7 days off rotating schedule
