Nova Scotia is rich in natural resources – including biodiversity, forests, provincial parks and the land we manage. The Department of Natural Resources is responsible for the development, management, conservation and protection of forest, parks and wildlife resources and the administration of the province's Crown land. This position is responsible for supporting the administration of land surveying activities on Crown lands for the Survey Division of the Land Strategy and Planning Branch of the Department. The technician provides expertise and support for land transactions to all sections of the Land Strategy and Planning Branch, other government departments and private sector surveyors. This position supports the Manager of Crown Survey Administration by conducting technical reviews of field surveys and survey plan submissions, drafting plans, researching historical documentation, and compiling records for investigation purposes.
