Your Opportunity:
Are you passionate about health care quality improvement? Are you looking for an opportunity to use your QI expertise to address resource utilization, communication, best practice knowledge translation, physician wellness, and workflow efficiency? Are you familiar with Hospitalist physician workflows and the patient populations they support? The Calgary Hospitalist Program is seeking a self-driven, talented QI Consultant who will be an integral member of the team, helping to identify, design, implement, and evaluate physician-led QI initiatives in a variety of settings, including acute care, rehab, and continuing care settings across Calgary. This position is based at Foothills Medical Centre and is a hybrid remote and on-site role, with occasional travel to the Peter Lougheed Centre, South Health Campus, and community Carewest/AgeCare sites to support physician driven quality improvement project work.
Description:
In collaboration with the QI physician leads, the Hospitalist QI Consultant plays a significant role in the planning of QI initiatives, including developing project charters, making recommendations for project design, conducting literature searches, coordinating submission of ethics approval applications, assisting with project implementation, analyzing relevant data, and creating project reports and associated communications. Where appropriate, the QI Consultant engages with the broader group of Hospitalists, operational leadership, site-level quality councils, and external partners on behalf of the Hospitalists' QI committees and may present project findings to internal and external audiences. Strong project management and organizational skills, including the ability to plan, coordinate, and manage project concurrently.
