Robert Half is currently searching for a professional Senior Accountant in Chilliwack BC! This position will be a key contributor to the success of the company and finance team. While reporting directly to the Controller, this individual will be supporting month-end reporting, financial statement preparation, preparation of operational reports, financial & costing analysis, WIP reporting, reconciliations, intercompany transactions, and foreign exchange transactions.

1. ERP Implementation
2. Automation of the reporting process
3. Prepare financial models using Power BI

An ideal candidate will be an engaging team player, analytical with an investigative mind, driven, collaborative and tech savvy. You will have the ability to perform the following job duties:

1. Full cycle accounting including reviewing tasks completed by the junior staff (AP, AR)
2. Month end closing functions - from posting the journal entries, accruals, performing reconciliations to performing analysis on inventory and financial statement results
3. Prepare working papers and schedules for prepaid accounts, reclassifications etc.
4. Preparing consolidated reports at month end, quarter end and year end
5. Assisting the Controller with preparing and delivering the financial statements on a timely basis
6. Set up projects within the ERP system and extract information and reports, as required
7. Process intercompany transactions, reconciliations, adjustment entries during period end and ensure accuracy of the financial records
8. Liaise with the auditors and provide documentation and information, as needed
9. Financial & costing analysis on the financial results & variance analysis against the budget/ standards
10. Prepare reports for the operations and finance team

Job Requirements:

You will meet the following job requirements:

1. 3+ years of full cycle accounting experience in a similar position, working in a senior capacity

2. Accounting education is needed; CPA enrollment or designation will be considered an asset

3. Experience working with ERP systems & strong Excel skills are required

4. Previous experience with costing, inventory, IFRS and/or US GAAP will be considered an asset

5. Excellent communication and problem solving skills are required

7. Technical skills and ability to manipulate data to create financial reports
