Job description

Manpower is looking for an experienced and excited professional that would play an important role on the community s transformation and development, supporting the growth and advancement of Michipicoten First Nation in Wawa, Ontario.

What is the job?

Responsible for planning, creating, developing, and implementing an education strategy that support the work plan for delivering a range of cultural initiatives (activities, programs, projects) for the retention of Anishinaabemowin language, Anishinaabe traditional and cultural practices within the MFN community

Work collaboratively with the Health and Social Services team to develop programs that enhances the Nation s our wellness, well-being and the quality of life

Responsible for planning, developing and implementing the Nation s elementary, secondary and post-secondary education programs and services, including efficient utilization of the funding.

Prepares monthly reports for the Executive Officer regarding all aspects of the department s functions. and operations, highlighting both achievements and areas of concern

What do you bring?

Bachelor s Degree in an Indigenous education-related discipline

In-depth knowledge and experience with Anishinaabe culture, traditions, customs and protocols

Minimum 5 years of experience working in an education setting serving an Anishinaabe community; including the development, implementation, delivery, monitoring, and evaluation of education programs and services

Experience in collaborative program planning including a range of government and non-government stakeholders, conducting research, data analysis and strategic planning
