A company in the Education industry Robert Half has partnered with is looking for a part-time, entry-level Financial Analyst to join a fast-growing team. The Financial Analyst's responsibilities will include providing daily support to the accounting and finance departments, as well as completing routine assignments and solving routine/standard problems with limited discretion. The Financial Analyst role requires an easy-going individual comfortable with large amounts of information and capable at managing expectations. This long-term contract / temporary employment opportunity is based in the Hamilton, Ontario area.

Your responsibilities

- Be involved in numerous aspects of the monthly/quarterly/annual close process (i.e. journal entries, account reconciliations, expense analysis, and trend analysis, variance analysis)

- Devise unique alternatives and solutions to reduce costs and elevate financial performance of a company

- Analyze and query a considerable amounts of data

- Partake in annual budgeting process

Job Requirements:

- Practical knowledge in problem solving through statistical analysis or with large data sets highly preferable (such as in derivatives, structured finance, or business analytics or in a similarly demanding and analytical role)

- Great written, verbal, and interpersonal skills

- Strong familiarity with Annual Operating Budget

- General familiarity with compensation and benefits

- Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel

- Demonstrated knowledge of benefits administration

- Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
