Project Accountant

Our client is actively seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Project Accountant to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional with a strong background in project accounting. The successful candidate will have experience with budgeting, forecasting, and cost reporting for large and small construction projects, and will enjoy working cross functionally with project and site teams.

Work Arrangement:
Hybrid (3-4 days in-office) in the Greater Kitchener-Waterloo-Cambridge area.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Monitor project budgets and prepare reports in a timely manner
• Assess budget vs actuals for all projects to identify project overages and risks
• Prepare progress draws for all projects in a timely manner
• Collaborate with project management teams and other departments
• Evaluate systems, software, and workflow, and implement process improvements

Qualifications and Experience:

• 5+ years of Project Accounting experience
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field
• Proficiency with ERP systems and accounting software
• Advanced Excel skills
• High level of organization and detail orientation
• Strong communication skills
