Robert Half is searching for an ambitious Plant Controller eager to join the team at a reputable manufacturing company. This leadership role oversees an accounting and finance department. The Controller plans and directs all accounting operational functions, manages the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, analyzes accounting and internal control systems, and guides departmental staff. Based in the Welland area, this opening for a Plant Controller is a permanent position.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze and organize data appropriately by anticipating the internal client’s expectations
• Execute Factory finance responsibilities in close cooperation with management team including: Budgeting, forecasting, analysis, and reporting, analyze variances and proactively communicate explanations to management with recommended actions, oversee and maintain accurate product costing model, align plant productivity with transparent financial targets
• Ensure planning, forecasting and reporting requirement and deadlines are met
• Have site leadership for the plant finance team, evaluate and coach existing team, and build a high performance finance team
• Provide proactive consultation, interpretation and education of complex financial and operational matters to various departmental leaders used to drive business decisions
• Monitor and implement plant internal controls (in conjunction with corporate policies) as necessary to ensure reporting integrity, safeguard company assets, and identify risks
• Determine and maintain all accounting principles and processes and ensure compliance to IFRS/ US GAAP regulations.

Job Requirements:

• CPA Designation
• Manufacturing industry experience
• 7+ years of accounting experience
• Cost accounting experience and knowledge
• Strong budgeting and forecast skills and experience
• Ability to manage a finance team
• Strong excel skills
• Proven communication skills
