What is the job?

• Implementation of the community economic development initiatives aimed at building long term capacity and fostering the integration of the Nation s economic, social and environmental objectives
• Planning, developing and implementing economic opportunities in collaboration with Michipicoten s economic development corporation, government, private industry, municipalities, and First Nation partners
• Maintaining a sound administrative and organizational system
• Developing budgets and cash flow projections
• Working with governments, funding agencies, local industry, and local businesses to develop and implement initiatives to enhance community and economic growth

What do you bring?

• Degree in community development, business, commerce, economics, or related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Experience working with First Nations; Knowledge of Indigenous Rights, history, culture, and current socioeconomic issues
• Minimum of five years experience in community or economic development
• Three years experience in a management or supervisory role
• Experience in venture development
• PMP Certification an asset
