What you will be doing in the role of Instrumentation Technician :

Your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to :

  • On-site and shop services including configuration, commissioning and troubleshooting
  • Some travel, overtime and after-hours coverage would be required
  • Must be willing to work nights, weekends, holidays and after- hours to respond to emergencies and project demands when required
  • Must be willing to work outdoors in inclement weather
  • Developing skills related to our services capabilities and offerings
  • Calibrations and Calibration Management
  • Installing and maintain measurement and indicating instrumentation devices
  • Control Systems and Panel Fabrication
  • Shutdown and Turn Around maintenance
  • Support Agreements
  • Maintain an organized and safe work site
  • Follow our robust ISO Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions
  • Promoting a team approach within Lakeside Process Controls Ltd.
  • Provide a premier level of customer service
  • Support shop & field calibrations and evaluation of components and devices
  • Installation and commissioning of measurement instrumentation
  • Removing, repairing, adjusting and replacing components and devices.
  • Referencing drawings, diagrams and other technical documentation
  • Referencing manuals, data sheets, standards and codes
  • Support customer maintenance contract and shutdown work
  • Support After-Hours and Demand Response activities
  • Performing other duties supportive of main objectives, as assigned

Knowledge and skills required for the role :

  • Instrumentation Engineering Technologist Diploma or equivalent
  • 0 2 years of prior experience
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Able to climb ladders / stairs and work at heights
  • Able to work in congested spaces
  • Knowledge on measurement devices (Flow, pressure, temperature, level, analytical, control valves & positioners)
  • Understanding of electronics and basic electrical circuits
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Strong ability to troubleshoot problems
  • Previous exposure wiring, plumbing, or pipefitting would be an asset.
  • Proficient in computer operating systems (DOS, VMS, Windows)
  • Proficient in software applications (word processing, spreadsheet)
