Position Overview :
The AVP, Inside Sales and Sales Strategy at IG Investments will oversee the direct activities of the Inside Sales and Associate Teams.
This job will support the development and execution of the National Sales strategy, and collaborate with other departments such as Product, Marketing, Events, Technology, Advisor recruiting & onboarding, and Distribution to execute on strategic initiatives.
This job will represent Head of National Sales in various internal and external meetings and Advisor presentations across Canada.
Responsibilities : Leadership
Leadership
- Oversee and direct the daily activities of Inside Sales Representatives including but not limited to : performance management, goal setting, job evaluations, developing and mentor team members, ensure proper sales coverage while managing group culture to ensure a cohesive and motivated team atmosphere.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and development strategies to achieve overall effectiveness of advisor communications and ensures consistent application of the Mackenzie Investments sales processes and tools.
- Conduct bi-weekly call coaching through side-by-side sessions, preparing summaries and addressing opportunities for improvement as well as identifying level of product knowledge around both internal and competitive offerings.
- Develop individualized / customized Inside Sales call scripts and offers advice on selling style approach when needed.
- Monitors calling activity of assigned Inside Sales Representatives, ensuring high quality Advisor interactions.
- Liaise with Wholesaling team leads to identify educational and coaching opportunities.
Strategy
- Support the development of the national sales strategy to surpass gross sales and new supporter targets.
- Develop campaigns and motivate the team to continue to drive and accelerate sales results.
- Leverage data to increase efficiency of the department and team.
- Be in touch with competitors to evaluate IG's approach in product distribution.
- Work closely with industry consultants and research teams (Investor economics, Environics) to understand and enhance decision making in IG's position in the marketplace.
Collaboration
- Work closely with Product and Marketing departments to enhance value add content and collateral for use by Wholesaling team for the benefit of advisors and investors.
- Work closely with Recruiting and Onboarding teams to ensure enhanced representation of IG Investments and product story with prospects and new recruits.
- Work with sub-advisors to create a product training program to enhance the product knowledge of the sales team.
- Work with Technology and digital delivery (i.e. salesforce.com) team to ensure appropriate requirements are provided for the best technology experience for the sales team.
- Work with the IGM events teams to develop a plan for annual Advisor Roadshows across Canada.
Promotion and presentation
- Represent Head of Sales in various industry groups and presentations to deliver the IG Investments story.
- Represent IG Investments in recruiting and onboarding meetings by presenting the value of IG's product shelf.
- Represent Head of Sales at various Roadshows, Regional exchange meetings, Regional advisor events to discuss thought leadership and promote the IG Investments brand.
Requirements :
- Education - Post-secondary education in a relevant business discipline or industry certifications (CFA, CIM, CAIA).
- Experience - Extensive mutual fund industry background, including product knowledge, knowledge of the securities industry and the stock and bond markets and at least five years of management experience in mutual funds, exchange traded funds or related industry.
- Job specific knowledge and skills - Proven leadership, coaching and mentoring skills, creative thinker with the ability to exercise sound judgment in responding to questions and making decisions, team player who works cooperatively with the Sales and Marketing teams and other areas to meet the needs of the organization, strong relationship building and interpersonal skills, ability to multi-task in a diverse and fast-paced organization, strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Additional Requirements - Travel may be required, 4-5 days a week in office.
