The Hamilton Regional Laboratory Medicine Program (HRLMP) is a collaborative program funded and operated jointly by Hamilton Health Sciences and St.
Josephs Hospital. The Program is committed to change and innovation, through education, service and research, to bring the highest quality science into healthcare for the benefit of the community and to participate in the clinical application and interpretation of the science.
Position Summary
The role of the Medical Laboratory Technologist involves serological testing in Transfusion Medicine, antibody investigation, carrying out quality control and quality assurance in Transfusion Practice, inventory control of blood products, preparation and storage of blood products and appropriate utilization of the Laboratory Information System in Transfusion Medicine.
Communication with other healthcare professionals related to Transfusion Medicine practices.
Schedule Work Hours
days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays
This position is temporary until September 2025
Qualifications
1. Current registration with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario
2. Successful completion of an accredited MLT program
3. Recent (within the past year) experience in Transfusion Medicine
4. Excellent communication, organizational and problem-solving skills
