POSITION SUMMARY :
Reporting to the Manager, Distribution Centre, the Assistant Manager, Distribution Centre is responsible for supporting efficient operation of the UFA’s Distribution Centre.
The position is responsible for, but not limited to, leading the communication flow in the Distribution Centre, health and safety, warehouse operations, administration, people management and facility maintenance of the warehouse and yard.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES :
- Provide direct leadership to warehouse administrative staff, participate in recruitment initiatives, training, and performance management.
- Accountable for the health and safety management programs at DC, working in partnership with Manager, Distribution Centre, site Health and Safety Lead, and shift supervisors to achieve desired safety performance including internal and external audits.
- Maintain updated documentation including process documentation, standard operating procedures and quick reference guides for all warehouse and administrative processes.
- Accountable for the creation and continuous improvement of all DC processes, procedures, and operational systems to maximize operational efficiency and achieve customer service expectations.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify process gaps and opportunities to achieve operational excellence.
- Monitor and manage key performance indicator expectations for safety, efficiency, and customer service.
- Collaborate with Asset Protection team to align warehouse processes to meet inventory management expectations including operational leadership for annual wall to wall inventory counts.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS :
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent in business or supply chain management.
- 5+ years’ experience in warehouse or production environment.
- 4+ years’ experience in a leadership role in warehousing / supply chain industry.
- Excellent proactive planning, change management and problem-solving skills.
- Effective people leadership, communication and negotiating skills.
- Previous experience with Warehouse Management and Mainframe Systems.
- Advance Computer literacy, preferably in a PC environment.
- High level of innovative and motivational skills.
- Ability to operate in a rapidly changing environment with tight scheduling timeframes.
- Strong organizational skill, interpersonal and time-management skills.
