Job Description
The incumbent reports to the Supervisor of Buyers in the Quebec, Maritime and Northeastern American regions and is responsible for performing various tasks related to purchasing for the entire company.
- Ensure that the procurement process is followed and applied;
- Proceed to the search for new sources of supply in order to reduce costs;
- Responsible for negotiating purchasing conditions;
- Prepare cost analysis reports;
- Follow up on vendor evaluation;
- Ensure good communication with other departments;
- Issuance and follow-up of purchase orders;
- Manage and prioritize orders placed with suppliers;
- Follow up on open orders and follow up with suppliers;
- Maintain relationships with existing suppliers;
- Analyze and consolidate needs in the division;
- Implementation of procedures and performance indicators.
- Follow up with the accounts payable department on the payment of invoices
- All other related tasks
Qualifications
Possess a DEC;Have at least 5 years of experience in a purchasing department within a manufacturing company;Fluency in spoken and written French and English;Be concerned with overall quality;Ability to work under pressure;Be autonomous and resourceful;Knowledge of ERP systems (An asset).The position is based in Laval, but requires weekly travel to the Montreal officeKnowledge of mobile equipment / heavy vehicle an assetAdditional Information
