Job Description
The Metro Toronto Convention Centre is looking for a digitally savvy and creative in-house Senior Graphic Designer. We are looking to recruit an experienced graphic designer to join the Marketing team.
The Senior Graphic Designer is responsible for conceptualizing and developing designs for sales, marketing promotions, reports and special projects. The incumbent is required to produce creative concepts, design comps, graphic elements, illustrations, and will attend creative brief meetings to gather information and understand objectives for various marketing initiatives related to assigned projects. This position will touch all forms of design—print, digital, animation, video and other varied forms of content creation to develop creative assets and support campaigns on behalf of the corporation.
Technical Experience and Knowledge
- Demonstrated knowledge of communications and design principles and practices, including online, social media and production trends and software, technology, techniques and best practices involved in digital media, print and web content, and event media design and production.
- Experience developing, designing and producing quality digital assets and creative concepts.
- Advanced experience with Adobe Creative Suite (e.g. InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office 365 software).
- Demonstrated knowledge of print production standards and techniques to produce creative work.
- Ensure design standards and create templates for corporate communication and consistent use and application of the company’s brand(s).
- Manage external suppliers to prepare estimates, research, collect quotes, map price comparisons and evaluate solutions to make sound decisions based on quality and cost-effectiveness.
- Manage website updates and digital signage content, using a content management system.
- Plan production schedules and workflow for the design process of marketing projects
- Coordinate and maintain a library of graphics, media, digital records, and other company content.
- Experience and knowledge of AODA standards and accessible design applied to digital and print formats.
