Your role and responsibilities

As Production Manager, you will have the opportunity to ensure efficient and cost-effective production results. Each day, you will be responsible to meet order demand, specifications, quality, and planning targets through the coordination and management of plant equipment, personnel, and production processes (quantity, quality, budgeted costs, and proper productivity level), in a unionized environment.

You will also showcase your expertise by developing programs, projects, goals, and metrics to lead the organization to the highest level of operational performance while optimizing working capital throughout Operations.

The work model for the role is onsite. #LI-Onsite This role is contributing to the Electrification, Installation Products division in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, specifically for the following products : cable tray, strut, Microlectric and Joslyn.

You will be mainly accountable for :

  • Establishing the production objectives, monitor the key indicators (KPIs) of operational performance (OHS, Quality, Service, Performance, Costs) of the various departments and overall.
  • Maintaining a portfolio of projects to improve our maintenance performance and ensure delivery according to the objectives, budgets and timetables.
  • Establishing the annual budgets, in partnership with the plant manager. Control the expenses of his or her departments in order to respect the established budgets.
  • Performing efficient management of the production activities by considering profitability and customer demand.
  • Providing solutions to the problems that may arise in the production chain
  • In collaboration with the quality control team, ensuring the compliance of the manufactured products with the customer requirements.
  • Establishing growth and innovation strategies in collaboration with those responsible for manufacturing engineering and procurement.
  • Establishing and maintaining channels of communication with the supervisors and employees, while exercising leadership with them.
  • Evaluating and establishing workforce needs, ensure resources for the supervising the training of new and existing employees, for optimal workforce versatility.
  • Ensuring the maintenance of good working relations, as well as fairness and standardized practices across departments. Compliance with the collective agreement.

Qualifications for the role

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of management experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of the various principles of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement.
  • Strong sense of responsibility and demonstrated leadership in the various areas; health and safety, quality, production.
  • Ability to promote teamwork, engagement, and accountability.
  • Good resistance to stress and ability to adapt to changes.
  • Communication skills.
  • French-English bilingualism, spoken and written.
