Job Description
The Caseworker – Waterston Centre provides supervision and support for residents as required by The Salvation Army and funding contract policies and procedures. The Caseworker is part of the Case Management Team for Waterston Ministries and reports to the Case Management Supervisor.
Responsibilities
- Provide case management services for the residents of Waterston Centre.
- Review all resident applications and oversee referrals from Ministry of Social Services and other agencies.
- Complete pre‑admission house tours and provide information to potential residents.
- Complete discharge processes when residents are discharged from the program, ensuring resident belongings are packed.
- Build and maintain a therapeutic milieu with workers and residents.
- Ensure the physical and psychological needs of residents are being met through programming, individual counselling, etc.
- May chair monthly or as needed planning meetings for residents and workers.
- Support resident appointments (medical, counselling, etc.).
- Provide statistical and evaluative information to management and funders.
- Support the efforts made to meet the residents’ spiritual needs and cultural practice.
Qualifications
Completion of a formal post‑secondary / college program of two academic years in Social Services, Human Services, or any other relevant fields.Certification in Mental Health & Addictions would be an asset.Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in related field, including frontline casework experience in a social service environment, functional supervision and working with marginalized clientele.Knowledge of issues facing persons experiencing housing crisis, various social issues pertaining to homelessness and its impact on the families served.Strong sense of integrity and confidentiality with professional ethics.Patience and ability to deescalate situations.Strong professional writing skills.Valid Saskatchewan Driver’s License (asset).Background check with vulnerable sector screening required.Compensation
The target hiring range for this position is $20.75 to $25.94 with a maximum of $31.13. Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
