Job Title : Physiotherapist
Department : Physiotherapy Services
Responsible To : Director of Care
Purpose :
To provide physiotherapy services that promote residents' physical function, mobility, and quality of life in accordance with evidence-based practices and facility protocols.
Duties and Responsibilities :
Perform comprehensive assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for residents with a range of medical conditions.
Implement therapeutic interventions, including exercise programs, manual therapy, and mobility training.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including nursing, occupational therapy, and recreation staff, to coordinate resident care.
Monitor, evaluate, and document residents' progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed.
Provide education to residents, families, and caregivers regarding therapeutic exercises and mobility strategies.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with facility policies and regulatory requirements.
Ensure adherence to infection prevention and control measures during treatment sessions.
Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and quality improvement initiatives.
Maintain professional competence through ongoing education and participation in professional development activities.
Perform other related duties as required for the efficient operation of the physiotherapy program.

Working Conditions :
Work is performed throughout the facility and may require frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and repositioning of residents. Must be able to assist residents with mobility and transfers.
Qualifications :
Bachelor's Degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited institution.
Current registration with the Nova Scotia College of Physiotherapists.
Previous work experience in a healthcare setting or long-term care is considered an asset.
Strong clinical skills with knowledge of evidence-based physiotherapy practices.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Commitment to maintaining a high standard of professional practice and resident-centered care.
Working Hours :
Permanent full-time position; hours subject to rotation and may include weekends and holidays.
