We are seeking a Craft Services Coordinator to support our field project teams. The Craft Services Coordinator is a dual-focused role responsible for supporting field operations through robust Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) coordination and providing end-to-end People & Culture/administrative support. This position develops and maintains job hazard assessments, manages training compliance and incident reporting, oversees JOHSC activities, and ensures alignment with the HSE manual. On the People & Culture/Administrative side, the role handles new hire onboarding packages, benefits and pension administration, absence tracking, payroll/tax documentation, apprenticeship coordination, and targeted recruitment partnerships with local schools.

This role is based out of Bedford, NS. Ability for occasional travel is required.

What You Will Be Working On

Health & Safety:

  • Develop and maintain Job Hazard Assessment for each project.

  • Ensure employee training is up to date and maintain training records.

  • Complete and review incident reports.

  • Assist with WCB submissions and basic injury/incident follow-up.

  • Oversee certain JOHSC meetings.

  • Update and maintain aspects of the HSE manual.

  • Ensure workers are following HSE manual requirements. (ex. FLHAs, tool inspections, equipment inspections, etc.)

  • Provide resources for field employees.

  • Track and order miscellaneous safety supplies and PPE. (ex. respirators, vests, harnesses etc.)

People & Culture/Admin:

  • Submit and track benefits and pension plan forms.

  • Responsible for new hire packages and general onboarding paperwork.

  • Process expenses and track allowance balances.

  • Track vacation, schooling, and other absences.

  • Assist with recruitment and application reviews.

  • Coordinate with local schools to attract new workers entering the workforce.

  • Assist with the coordination of employee events, announcements, or general internal communications.

  • Manage apprenticeship applications, nominations, and coordinate with our representative.

  • Maintain yearly payroll and tax paperwork.

  • Other duties as assigned.

What We Are Looking For

  • Diploma/certificate in Occupational Health & Safety, Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; equivalent experience considered.

  • 2–4 years of experience in HSE coordination and/or HR administration within construction, industrial, or field services environments.

  • Working knowledge of provincial OHS requirements and WCB processes.

  • Familiarity with HSE programs (e.g., FLHAs, inspections, incident reporting) and JOHSC practices.

  • Understanding of HR processes: onboarding, benefits/pension administration, absence tracking, payroll/tax documentation.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams) and HRIS/LMS systems.

  • Valid certifications (e.g., First Aid, WHMIS) are assets; willingness to obtain/maintain required safety certifications.

  • Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail across multiple projects.

  • Clear, professional communication; ability to coach field employees and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

  • Discretion with confidential information; sound judgment and problem-solving.

  • Proactive, service-oriented mindset with resilience in a fast-paced, changing environment.

  • Ability to travel within Canada is required.
