Consultants at ERM lead and contribute to successful consulting engagements, support marketing and business management, and actively contribute to the internal growth and development of our team, our systems, and our culture. Collaborating closely with Managing Consultants, Consultants typically focus on a particular ERM advisory service area but can adapt to support other areas when needed - versatility and cross-fertilization across business lines is an important factor underlying ERM’s success.

YOUR ROLE

We are looking for a Consulting Senior Associate, Social Performance to join our Sustainability and Community Development team focused on projects in northern Canada (including across Inuit Nunangat) that touch on themes related to Indigenous self-determination, Indigenous knowledge, reconciliation, socio-economic development, environmental monitoring, and resource development. Given the cross-cutting nature of these topics, there may be an opportunity to expand the scope of work to other regions of Canada (e.g., British Columbia), should this be of interest. Your work will include supporting existing relationships with clients as well as identifying and developing new opportunities.

The Consulting Senior Associate, Social Performance is accountable for :

  • Assisting with designing, planning, delivering, and reporting on meetings, workshops and engagement sessions.
  • Conducting research, synthesizing findings, and contributing to the preparation of reports and presentation materials for clients.
  • Supporting and / or growing relationships and networks with Inuit and other Indigenous communities, governments, and other partners and potential clients.
  • Supporting marketing and business development initiatives by conducting research on market trends and client needs and preparing marketing materials.
  • Assisting project teams with implementing ERM Canada’s Reconciliation Strategy (such as by working with Indigenous partners, considering Indigenous Knowledge, or contributing to Indigenous workforce development).
  • Coordinating and implementing field programs.
  • Compiling, managing, and analyzing data.
  • Drafting technical reports, or sections of reports, including baseline studies, environmental monitoring, environmental permitting, and impact assessments.
  • Administering office and gear inventory (example : Health and Safety oversight, gear maintenance and dispatching).

YOUR OPPORTUNITY FOR GROWTH

ERM offers truly impactful work experience with opportunities to grow, lead, and contribute to areas that matter to you.

  • Your impact may be felt personally – leading a project from start to finish, or through working as part of a bright, dynamic team with a good work-life balance.
  • You will impact the ability of ERM’s clients to deliver on their mandates. We work with a wide variety of organizations whose work can significantly enhance or impede sustainability and our collective pursuit of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Your work at ERM will help them shape and better fulfil their important visions.
  • If you have a passion for Indigenous self-determination and reconciliation, with a specific interest in Inuit Nunangat, this is an excellent opportunity to collaborate with an expert consulting team on interesting natural resource management projects. Our clients span a wide range of corporate, government, and non-government clients—we help them achieve positive and tangible social, environmental, and economic impact. As a team, we are shaping a sustainable future with the world’s leading organizations.
