ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE

This role reports to Manger, International Recruitment.

SUMMARY

As a Student Ambassador at Kwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU), you will play a vital role in engaging with prospective students through the Unibuddy platform. This position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase the unique and enriching student experience at KPU, sharing insights, and fostering a sense of community.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Utilize the Unibuddy platform to proactively engage with prospective students and respond promptly to their inquiries.
  • Initiate conversations with a friendly and approachable demeanor to create a positive first impression of KPU.
  • Share personal experiences, stories, and insights that highlight the vibrant and supportive community at KPU.
  • Offer accurate and detailed information about campus life.
  • Support the Recruitment and Admissions team by forwarding queries related to the application process, scholarships, and other relevant topics.
  • Actively participate in virtual events, webinars, and other outreach activities to promote KPU to a broader audience.
  • Collaborate with fellow Student Ambassadors to brainstorm and implement creative strategies for engagement.
  • Keep records of common questions, concerns, and feedback received through the Unibuddy platform.
  • Provide regular reports to the Recruitment and Admissions teams to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Uphold a professional and positive representation of KPU at all times.
  • Ensure the confidentiality of sensitive information and adhere to university policies.
  • Assist with small scale projects for a variety of divisions within KPU International

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be enrolled in a certificate, diploma, or degree at KPU;
  • Demonstrated interest in international studies, education, and / or student life services;
  • Must demonstrate a positive attitude, flexibility, and be a team player;
  • Must be self-motivated and take initiative to help others;
  • Demonstrated creativity and research experience;
  • Demonstrated strong organizational skills, including punctuality, reliability, and good time management;
  • Strong and professional communication skills, both verbal and written;
  • Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with staff and students;
  • Must have adequate knowledge of the services and resources available to KPU students;
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English language; proficiency in a second language is an asset
  • We are hiring 5 student assistants to support the recruitment team using our new Unibuddy software. We will be hiring 1 student assistant to support each of our 5 recruitment zones.

    Salary Information

    Student Assistants are paid as per the following :

  • Less than one year of post-secondary (less than 30 credits) – BC Minimum Wage
  • One year of post-secondary (30-60 credits) – BC Minimum Wage plus 8%
  • With a post-secondary diploma or degree – BC Minimum Wage plus 21%
