REPORTS TO : Manager of Compliance and Quality LOCATION : Initial Placement – Burford Administration Office Minimum Qualifications : Three-year diploma in Environmental or Civil Engineering Technology or equivalent Two years work-related experience in quality management with municipal water, wastewater and stormwater operations Experience with development, implementation and maintenance of Drinking Water Quality Management Standard or other similar systems such as the ISO 9001, ISO 14001 or HACCP Programs Knowledge of applicable theories and practices of water / wastewater / stormwater monitoring programs, laboratory data management, quality management systems and process improvement Demonstrated knowledge and application of statutes, regulations and by-laws including the Safe Drinking Water Act, the Ontario Water Resources Act, the Environmental Protection Act, the Clean Water Act, and Occupational Health & Safety Act. Ability to develop policies and processes based on applicable legislation Strong verbal and written communication skills including report writing Excellent organizational, team, interpersonal, and public relations skills Proven analytical and problem-solving skills that are resolution oriented Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and GIS software Ability to work independently in a fast-paced team environment Valid driver’s license and acceptable drivers abstract Assets : Experience in a municipal environment Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) designation through OACETT, or equivalent Certified Water Operator (WT1 or higher) Water Quality Analyst Certification Limited Groundwater Certification Duties : Support the Environmental Services Division through compliance and quality initiatives for Water, Wastewater, Stormwater and Solid Waste Operations Support the ongoing implementation and continual improvement of the Quality Management System Act as the QMS representative designate Facilitate internal audits on Quality Management Standards and internal processes Assist with the maintenance and development of new and existing policies and procedures Participate in continual improvement processes and projects to improve program efficiencies Working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, participating in cross-program initiatives. Coordinate and implement environmental compliance monitoring and sampling programs Assist in implementation and management of the environmental programs, including field work. Attend job sites as required in all weather conditions Assist in the coordination of engineers, contractors, and suppliers in the installation, maintenance, and repair of the County’s urban and rural drinking water supply systems Ensure conformance with environmental quality procedures and protocols Operate, maintain and provide technical support for small drinking water systems Data management and analysis Other duties as assigned Salary Range – $78,679 – $92,037 (Job Grade 7) 35 hours per week The application deadline is 9 : 00 a.m., on Friday December 06, 2024 Date of Posting : November 27, 2024 The County of Brant is committed to providing accommodations for persons with disabilities.
