What you will do
Foster a place of safety by ensuring all lifeguarding procedures are adhered to. Create lasting memories and lifelong friendships with your peers working together in the aquatic environment.
Plan, organize and implement core lesson plans, progress reports and evaluations. Stretch your team building and problem solving abilities while you work together navigating a constantly changing environment.
Enforce all rules and regulations and maintain order in designated areas as a proactive approach to ensuring safety and accident prevention.
What you will bring
You are committed to creating an inclusive and safe space for all. You will bring a passion for working with youth. You will be committed to working in a socially inclusive environment, responding with sensitivity to diverse needs.
You will have well-developed interpersonal and relationship building skills with the ability to establish rapport and excellent communication with staff, YMCA community members and pool patrons.
You will possess current National Lifeguard certification, Standard First Aid with CPR-C and AED and Swim Instructor certification.
Aquatic fitness certification and / or advanced instructor certifications are an asset. Applicants must be 16 years of age or older.
