This position will be responsible for optical development and validation of Infinera’s next-generation ICE transponder / muxponder line cards. The individual will work with the cross-functional development team to integrate key optical components into the line card and validate the optical performance and robustness of these components. The person will perform bring-up, debug, and design validation testing to verify the feature's function and the system's performance.
Qualifications
PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, or related major
0-4 years of optical engineering product development experience in the telecommunication industry required.
Familiar with coherent optical communication technology, digital signal processing, and high-speed optical signal generation and detection.
Familiar with standard industry design validation process and product life cycle
Familiar with optical communication systems and their linear and nonlinear impairments and tradeoffs, such as cross-talk, OSNR, chromatic dispersion, PMD, SPM, XPM, FWM, etc
Being able to work under pressure and under tight deadlines.
Strong English communication skills with excellent interpersonal abilities; a collaborative team player.
Previous Nokia intern or co-op experience in Optical Networks is preferred.
Responsibilities
Perform optical design verification tests for Nokia’s next-generation coherent linecards.
Develop and implement comprehensive test plans, procedures, and reports.
Translate test plans into executable code to automate and optimize testing processes.
Design, configure, and set up various test stations to run and perform the design verification tests.
Collaborate cross-functionally with software, firmware, DSP, hardware and optical teams to identify issues and collaborate on solutions.
Perform data processing and analysis to support test results and troubleshooting.
Compare test results to specifications and ensure that requirements can be met.
