Electrical Engineer or Specialist - Power & Drives

Summary

We are currently recruiting for an Electrical Engineer / Specialist to join our Power & Drives Business Unit in our Calgary Solutions Centre. Providing technical project support, knowledge and experience relating to power systems, the successful candidate will be a driven, self-starter who enjoys a challenge and is motivated to meet and exceed customer expectations. This role will report to the Manager, Operations - Systems, Software & Solutions.

Role and Responsibilities

• An integral component of the project team working with project management, engineering, and manufacturing personnel.
• Working with customers’ engineers to define functional requirements, managing customer expectations.
• Responsible for electrical aspects of the project; project scope includes but not limited to :
• Low voltage motor control centers (600VAC and below)
• Variable frequency drives (600VAC and below)
• Industrial electrical equipment buildings
• Supporting projects through engineering design, integration, commissioning and start-up activities
• Ensuring compliance with all applicable engineering and safety standards, practices, procedures, plant documentation requirements and methods of installation
• Coordinating with internal and external stakeholders ( PM, CAD, Manufacturing, Sales)
• Creating and maintaining detailed project records
• Contributing and supporting the development and evolution of design standards
• Understanding project management processes
